We specialize in computerized calculations & designs REQUIRED in obtaining a BUILDING PERMIT

for residential & commercial projects. Dependable Air Designs uses the manual J, N & D methods,

developed in partnership with the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA).

These are the standard methods of computing cooling & heating loads throughout the US and Canada.

The Florida Department of Community Affairs (DCA). has notified all building departments

to enforce manual J & N (load calculations) and manual D (air distribution calculations) for all central

air conditioning installations. These load calculations are REQUIRED in obtaining a BUILDING

PERMIT. If your area is not presently enforcing these requirements, you can be assured, it will be

in the VERY NEAR FUTURE.

THE RISKS OF MISCALCULATIONS ARE TOO COSTLY !
WHY GAMBLE ?

If you are still using the "Rule of Thumb" method, you may be oversizing your equipment causing

inadequate dehumidification, and of course, there is no need to express the consequences undersized

equipment can create.

If you are still sizing your duct system on the "Law of Average" (an average size duct for an average

size room), it may work some of the time. The size of the duct, the CFM's and the number of air supply

drops should be determined by the BTU's removed or added to a given area. A poorly designed duct

system will reduce the air flow performance.
